The Knights of Columbus was started by Venerable Father Michael McGivney in 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut in the basement of Saint Marys. On March 29, the Knights of Columbus were granted a charter by the Connecticut legislature establishing a legal corporation that continues to this day. The order of the Knights of Columbus is based on the principles of charity, unity, fraternalism, and patriotism. The Knights are an order of Catholic men that support each other, support families, support widows, and support Catholic clergy. Pope emeritus Benedict XVI approved a decree recognizing the heroic virtue of Father McGivney. General Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM PDT. Rosary begins at 6:30 PM PDT. Meetings are held in Scappoose Oregon under the VanderZanden Center. |
